Ruining her life: Court orders release of student arrested over Op Sindoor post

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rapped the Maharashtra Government for arresting a 19-year-old female engineering student over a social media post on ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Currently lodged in Yerwada Central Prison in Pune, the student also faced rustication from her college over the post. She was studying at Pune’s Sinhgad Academy of Engineering—an unaided private college affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University.

A vacation bench comprising Justices Gauri Godse and Somasekhar Sundaresan instructed the student’s counsel to file a bail application without delay, assuring that it would be considered and granted on the same day.
