Erode (East) bypoll 2025 | Distribution of voter information slips begins
“When Tamil people were massacred in Sri Lanka, the DMK remained silent. The DMK and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi have committed numerous betrayals against the Tamil people and the Tamil nation,” alleged Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman here on Monday.
Speaking at a public meeting in Sampath Nagar while campaigning for party candidate M.K. Seethalakshmi in the Erode (East) Assembly byelection, he said, “It was due to our inability to tolerate these betrayals that the Naam Tamilar movement was formed.”
He criticised the DMK for failing to fulfill its promises made in its election manifesto and pointed out that there was no mention of property tax or electricity tariff hikes in it. “Apart from the liquor sales, they have no alternative revenue generation plans,” he said.
