India Reaches Out To US To Grant Visa For Injured Maharashtra Student's Family

The Centre has formally reached out to the US government over an urgent visa for the family of Neelam Shinde, a student from Maharashtra's Satara district who is currently battling for her life in an American hospital after she suffered critical injuries in a road accident, sources said on Thursday.

This comes as her family sought the government's intervention to acquire an immediate visa.

According to information, the accident took place on February 14 and a person has been arrested in connection. Shinde's family was informed two days later by her roommate.

Shinde suffered serious injuries to her head, hands, legs and chest. She also had to undergo immediate surgery due to the head injury.
